A Tribute to Featsy Vendors This Women’s Month

This Women’s Month, we’re celebrating some of Featsy’s amazing vendors — women whose passion, creativity, and heart shine through everything they do. From beautiful handcrafted creations to the love they pour into their work, these entrepreneurs inspire us in countless ways. Learn more about them, their businesses, and the incredible impact they have on the Featsy community.

Lee Gabriels – Profumo Celeste

Residing in Cape Town, she is a God-fearing woman who draws strength and guidance from her faith. Beyond the walls of her home, she finds peace in the great outdoors, where nature’s beauty rejuvenates her spirit. A passionate fan of football and cricket, she enjoys cheering for her favorite teams, but her greatest joy comes from crafting.

Her journey began in 2022, emerging from a season of personal and professional challenges after transitioning from the corporate world. In the midst of these struggles, she discovered an opportunity that would change her life’s path. What started as a humble hobby soon grew into a registered business, driven by an undeniable calling to share her craft with others. Thus, PROFUMO CELESTE was born — Italian for “Heavenly Scent,” a name that plays on the words “scent,” representing fragrance, and “sent,” symbolizing a meaningful message.

Rina Ellis – Ellis Art

Her art journey began in 1999, when she received an easel, paint set, and brushes as a birthday gift from a close friend who recognized her passion for painting — whether on kitchen cupboards or pot plants. She studied under Olga Hoffmann for many years, later continuing her training with Bert van Wyk. Life eventually led her into the corporate world, where she spent 17 years in the pharmaceutical industry, focusing on finance and supply chain, and during that time, her painting came to a pause. In 2021, after being retrenched, she slowly returned to her first love. By 2023, she had completed the Creative Visionary Program (CVP) with Nicholas Wilton (USA), an experience that reshaped her artistic path and taught her to create from intuition, emotion, and expression.

Today, her creative process is deeply intuitive and rooted in exploration. She begins with color, texture, and loose marks, then steps back to observe and respond to what unfolds. Layers are built, removed, and reworked, allowing each piece to evolve organically into a journey of discovery. For her, painting is more than creation — it is a process of reconnection, offering joy, meaning, and a way to engage more deeply with herself, others, and the beauty of life.

Rumbidzai Mashele PD(SA) – Lemon Belly Buster

She is a dynamic leader and serial entrepreneur with over 11 years of experience in the tech industry. Her passion for business and empowering others has led her to found and successfully run Naka Nails, serve on multiple boards, and mentor future leaders. Her journey with Lemon Belly Buster is deeply personal, inspired by her own wellness transformation. She created this organic wellness brand to share the benefits of a natural approach to health, specializing in a 100% organic, handcrafted fat-burning tea paste infused with collagen and moringa, proudly made in South Africa. Since its launch in March 2025, Lemon Belly Buster has aimed to empower South Africans with affordable wellness solutions that blend traditional remedies with modern science, making a meaningful impact on the community.

Annemarie – Scatters Matter

Scatters matter

Annemarie, founder of Scatters Matter, turned her life around when the pandemic shifted her from corporate boardrooms to the creative world of sewing. What began with leftover fabric and a few scatter cushions quickly grew into a passion-driven business, where each cushion is handcrafted in small, unique batches that bring warmth, colour, and personality to any space. From the thrill of fabric hunts to the joy of connecting with people at markets, Annemarie has discovered a sense of fulfillment and community that corporate life never offered. Today, through Featsy, her creations reach even more homes, each piece carrying her love for fabric, reinvention, and authentic connection.
